Hello! My wife and I have been RVing for the past 40 years. Started out on motorcycle and tent and finished last year with a beautiful 30ft Travel trailer that has taken us to most of the U.S. We are both in our mid 80's now so our traveling days are at an end and our trailer rests in my sons private, family campground in the woods of Northern Michigan. We still enjoy camping up there with our extended family. I have been a moderator on RV.net for about 25 or more years and have met many wonderful and delightful people in that time. Some remain our best friends to this day.

My husband and I started tent camping, then had class B vans for 40 years. With retirement looming we decided that we wanted to travel and camp more frequently and for longer trips.About 8 years ago we bought a slightly used class C. We have done some trips/rallies with the Coachmen Owners Association, but living on someone else's schedule can be stressful.I love planning trips based on an area, or a theme. Our favorite so far has been the entire Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, 1600 miles in 17 days. Next, a two week loop through Kentucky. I'd love to travel Route 66, and Route 30.

Good afternoon, my husband Is Jimmy 59 He is disabled and a veteran, and I am Loretta 60 a retired medical assistant we both retired in 2018 and we have been RVing since then. And we travel with our rescue German Shepherd that is going to be 10. we used to call Englewood Florida home but we had sold our house in April 2023 and now we call Bitley Michigan home. We are on the road from August to September through April to May then we are in Michigan during the summer. I drive a 36 foot 2006 Winnebago journey and I love it. Hi - I'm a newbie to all of this, camping in a camper, Good Sam and anything else that pops up along the way - pun intended! We just bought a used camper and have been trying to get everything setup and tested, so any tips and guides are appreciated. Our camper is a trailer only, you have to have another vehicle to tow it. It's fancy with a slide out for the dining room table area that converts to a bed. Do I sound like a newbie yet? We have a tiny tiny bathroom with a shower and the smallest tub I've ever seen. We have a kitchen and it has a stove, but we haven't connected the gas to it yet to see if it works. The electrical plug in works the refrigerator, the a/c and the lights, so I'm happy so far. The water seems to flow with no leaks, but there is still a chemical smell from when it was winterized. The water is no longer flowing pink, but there is still a smell to it. Any hints as to what that is? As for where we want to go, I'd just like a simple place to set it up and use it for a base camp for now until we make sure we have it all working well. Might want to go traveling after retiring in a few years from now. Not sure where this adventure will lead, but I'm sure it will be a true adventure. Thanks for reading and I'm sure laughing at such a newbie, but we all start somewhere and sometime, so now is about as good as any. I'm jumping in with both feet to the deep end of the pool and hoping for the best. Wish me luck!

Hello from Richard and Penelope Yood of Tallahassee FL. We've been RVing since May 2005 and on our 4th and last coach a 2017 Forest River FR3 30DH..During our almost 19 years of RVing we have been to or through 44 states in the continental U.S.We're both in our late 70s so have slowed down on distance traveled, especially since Covid and higher gas prices, but we still try to use the coach once a month either visiting kids or with my wife's BFF & her husband. Anywhere for a week to long weekends.

Hi, I have been vanlifing and rving for nearly 1 year. I am very new to the travel trailer scene. I am nervous about it and don't really know all about it. So, I am solo with a dog. I lost my fur baby this past august, but adjusting well. I hope to find some good and helpful information as I travel along. I am heading to Texas my birth place then to New Mexico. Everyone travel well and safe and I hope to see you down the road.

Hi to all. We’re fully retired and have been enjoying rving for about 30 years. We stopped for a few years but decided to make a run for Alaska this coming summer so purchased a 2017 Four Winds 26B for the adventure. We figured there would not be parking issues with a smaller rig. We’re looking forward to engaging with the great rv community once again. Wish us luck! JD & Jerri

My wife and I have been RVing for over 30 years. We started up in a Pop Up, moved to a Travel Trailer, and then to a Class C Motorhome. We traveled extensively with our two daughters, while they were young, visiting much of the US and Canada. We are now on our 3rd Motorhome, Class A, and primarily travel throughout the winter months, usually to somewhere warm and snow free!

One of the recent RV.net evictees. 😉 Been RVing a bit over 2 decades, wife's a middle school science teacher, I'm double retired, but still work part-time for a non-profit. Still getting a feel for this site, always enjoyed the "Newest" and "Active" lists on RV.net, haven't seen something similar here yet. Would appreciate any insight on that. Travel safe, wave often!

Well hello to campers of all kinds.
I'm MissAnne and I have done primitive camping most of my life, some with tents and some without. I am purchasing a Scamp trailer for some extended backcountry camping for a home base. My conundrum is my battery knowledge.
It seems a 29 series is my better choice (unless there is a larger one ). I just dont know how to calculate what I can run and how long. I start reading and I feel like I'm trying to reinvent the wheel. Is the a simple calculation or chart or something to gather this info from or is it just learned knowledge????
Any and all knowledgeable info I will be grateful for.

Hello! I am Monica and my husband is Kelly. We have been fulltime going on 8 years in April. Our original plan when we went fulltime was 3 to 5 years. We love it so much that we just keep going. We have a 5th wheel and we love it. It's large enough that is feels like home, but we can still fit into most parks. We are excited to be a part of this community with like minded people.

Hay y'all, I'm Mike and my wife is Bonnie. We are relatively new to RVing. We are both retired. We got our VRB190 at the end of 2021. We've been on 2 extended trips so far and looking forward to the next one. We live in Western Massachusetts. Hope y'all travel safely.

Goodmorning, after spending over 15 rs on a sailboat. I bought a house in mid fl. After 2 yrs. I decided to sell the house and do the toy hauler full time. I am avid motorcyclist. And want to travel America. Especially the west. Currently in mid Florida. Hoping to mostly boondock mostly.
