With RVs it is almost like living in a house and it seems most people are sitting inside in their recliner with A/C on, watching TV or a movie. And not a good idea for strangers to drop in and join you in your RV.
I agree a lot is lost in the second way of "camping". I love it outside, but I have to admit we are often guilty of the inside thing.
For the couples that we heard doing karaoke inside their RV, they are so good that I wish they are singing outside. Some folk songs by Don McLean, Simon Garfunkel, Bee Gees...
I'm sure some other campers would have loved to join or watch them had they choose to sing and brought their karaoke system outside. But then again, that's their choice.
Yeah, guilty ourselves of just staying inside being a little exhausted with the hiking and seeing places.
