Well, first off -- it's not just Old Fella that's captured our hearts -- it's Richard and Sue, and their undying dedication to give Old Fella the kind of home, and more importantly, love, he was without for so long. In some ways, we live vicariously through them -- all the ups and downs, good times and bad. They cry, we cry. They rejoice, we sing along with them.
My husband, Brian, and I were relatively new to this site when we first read of Old Fella's plight. And let me tell ya....there wasn't enough Kleenex to stop the tears. And most of the tears were of joy -- the best kind. When we heard about the rally in Branson, we didn't have to discuss it long before we knew we wanted to make it our first.
So many animals are destroyed each year, or worse yet, neglected and unloved. Old Fella's story reminds us of that -- and it is our intent that if we ever get another animal, it would only come from a shelter -- not a breeder. Old Fella, even though he doesn't know it, has saved lives.
