**** Rt. 58 in Oregon ****
We are staying near Crater Lake on Rt.97. We are heading over to I5 to head for Salem. How is Rt.58 for steep climbs or descents? Someone suggested Rt. 138 instead. Thanks.

58 is currently undergoing some major road work, it is closed nights thru September. Might be better off either going west out of Crater Lake and pick up I5 near Roseburg or drive north on 97 to Bend and take 22 west straight into Salem. Salem surely cant be your final destination?
