**** Rt. 80 Montana *****
Traveling East on Rt. 80 there is a section around Butte where i was told it drops real fast and can be very dangerous. Has anyone ever done this route?

I suspect you have I90 in mind. I90 and I15 intersect at Butte. Homestake Pass is a bit east of Butte, and about 1000 ft higher. There's nothing exceptional about the grades on this stretch of interstate.
