The emission systems of 2010 and later( the ones using DEF) are extremely complicated. Even the dealers are often not able to correct problems. There are large OTR fleets with trucks sitting on the lot for weeks while the mfr. tries to correct the problems. Almost always it is something to do with sensors that read incorrectly. It seems that the larger the engines the greater the problems. As mentioned none of the data in the first post was gathered from DP owners who do have the larger engines. Every time you get a fault code that event is recorded. Should you take your truck to a dealer and he reads the ECM your warranty could be in jeopardy. The newer the vehicle the greater the problems. How much did you pay for your truck? $40,000, $50,000? Would your risk losing the warranty or damaging your engine or emission systems based on a forum post? Where did the writer get his data? How many vehicles were in his survey? 2,3 50??
