My brother and I drove a truck camper up to Prince Rupert BC. then port hopped on the ferry to Skagway.
Using the ferry schedule you can book daylight rides from port to port then spend nights or days and days in the various wonderful Southeast Alaskan towns.
My inlander brother really enjoyed this part of our Alaskan adventure.
To see many Southeast Alaskan towns you can only get there by water or air.
Just looking at the ferry web site pictures and videos is fun:
