Sounds like you will be driving , and sleeping while they go on vacation.
I spent two weeks in just Yellowstone, and the Tetons, and the next year stayed two weeks in the Black Hills.
You will always want to go back there so don't kill yourself the first trip. I wish I could have slept through Nebraska.
