285 from I-40

Question

Heading to NM in June and the trip planner shows getting off I40 taking 285 to Santa Fe. Is this an OK route for towing 5er comeing from the east
TV is one ton duramax with exhaust brake & 35 ft 5er or should we take the long way & go on to Albuquerque then north on I-25 ?

It's been 4-5 years ago but I towed our 35' 5er that way. No problems. Good road and no grades of any significance that I remember.

285 is practically flat. You'll have no issues.

Thanks, not much mountain experience ,only  the Kiamichis in Ok &amp; Ouachitas  &amp; Ozarks.  On google earth didnt look bad but  can be deceiving.
