2nd best day to drive through Atlanta

We will be leaving the Georgia mountains heading back to Florida, via I-75 through Atlanta.

We planned on traveling on Sunday, but there is rain predicted, so we are now thinking of either Thursday or Friday.

So other than the week-end, what is the 2nd best day to go through Atlanta?

We plan on going through downtown Atlanta between 10 or 11 am. Is that the best or should we go earlier? We don't want to be driving in the dark.

Would Friday be okay, or would Thursday be better?

    Even with rain. I would go for Sunday. Early while everyone is in church. If there is a home football game on Sunday traffic can be heavy.

    Reading the past discussions here, people that live in Atlanta say that Friday is crowded also.

    I would pick Thursday.

    Any day and any time will be just fine. REALLY! Pick a lane a couple over from the left, stay in it, and let the world go by. Drive as fast or slow as you feel comfortable and those that think you are going too slow will pass. Just keep an eye out far up the road for that inevitable stop for nothing.
