I have a simple method of calculating this figure -- I don't. I ignore it! Bad mpg is the price of RV travel. In exchange, we get freedom and fun and the outdoors and privacy, things we can't get as easily when we stay in a motel.
Exactly right. My friends always talk about how much I spend on fuel, campground fees, etc. When we returned from Alaska, one friend asked how much I spent on fuel; I said I do not know. The friend said didn't you keep track? I said no. If I had to worry about fuel costs, it would have ruined our beautiful trip. I tell them RV travel is not the cheapest way to travel. However, it is the way "we choose" to travel. We have been in almost all the states except Hawaii. Seen many beautiful and interesting sights and met many nice people. What more could one ask for?
