395 from Oregon to Yosemite
Thought about taking 395 from highway 20 in Oregon south to Yosemite.Will be there in Mid September. Any advice would be appreciated.

Wonderfully empty country -- mostly high desert. Much more pleasant and interesting than the freeway. Might not be any faster than the interstate, but it will seem shorter.
