We do a 6 week trip every year to meet our daughters family in a Nat'l Park out west. IMHO the worst thing to do is trying to see too much and constantly on the go to the next place. If it were me, I'd head straight out to Canyonlands/Arches on I-70. Spend at least 10 days in that area alone. Rent a Jeep if U don't have a 4x4 TOAD. A little backtrack to Mesa Verde is good for 3 days. Than S.W. on Rt.160. A MUST SEE is Monument Valley on U'r way to G.Canyon. G.Canyon is a 1 day site see trip unless U'r gonna take the mules down to stay overnite in the canyon bottom ($500).
I'd save Yellowstone area for another trip.
