I can't speak for popups traveling from NC to Alaska, but, as MORSNOW mentioned, one sees lots of popups up here in AK.
I'd second changing the tires (even just based on tooling around AK) and would also suggest: a) ensuring all the closure devices are working properly; and b) ensuring your screen windows/openings are in good shape so you can "open the windows" and still keep the bugs out.
