The thought process of saying you can only do this one time is very limiting.

Another suggestion is to get the whole family involved in the planning, it will be fun for all.

"I don't like the reservations tying us down at all! But what's the option? rolling into town with no idea of where to stay is just as undesirable." But there IS more adventure :)
