sh410, I didn't take it that way. I understand what you're saying. Our family is good at creating misfortunes ;) no need to plan for them! LOL
We are a loose and roll with it kind of family. This thread is the "anal" part of the trip, but I'll loosen up...I promise. :)
2gypsies, I've heard enough about Ridgway to make it a stop! Glad to hear that Vermillion is a drive-by.
You're darn right, the planning does feel like a job. Over this Christmas break, my wife and I have both logged in dozens of hours researching.
We're now wondering how to add the layers of groceries and laundry. I'm marking out Walmarts in our notebook. Really need to look at meals that don't require frozen goods. The only times we'll have fresh meat for dinner will be while staying near a town with groceries.
I can't stand our trailer when we have too much laundry to shuffle through. I'm thinking now that we will have 5 warm weather outfits and 2 cold weather with us. Might mean we wear dirty things sometimes, but that is better than being buried in clothes.
Also having second thoughts on staying in Moab without electricity. The generator hours are right during prime hiking times, and I don't see chances to recharge the batteries. That would be a problem. Wonder if they are relaxed on those hours if you have a quiet genny?
