Thanks for the input on the bikes. They are on the back of the trailer (reinforced bumper). At this point, I'm thinking we aren't taking them.
Came to the realization today the we may actually get tired on this trip. Go figure. :) Ruled out Yellowstone for that reason. I don't want to show up to Yellowstone already whipped.
Probably will do Colorado Springs and Estes Park. Less driving, and we can take 4 days in each area. I'd prefer to do this leg without reservations. That leaves the option open for us to just be tired and head home. Are there any campgrounds in either area that are "must stay"?
I've been out with the trailer all day today. Built and installed three extra shelves on the walls, built a shelf for the bed of the truck so that the boys can reach through the slider and store things out of the way during the drive. Also build a sled for the generator. It will now slide easier (not too easy) across the Bedrug. This way, I can push the generator closer to the cab when driving and pull it out easier when needed.
My wife took some old patio furniture pads and sewed them together to make a padded cover for the generator. Pretty slick.
