We do have a spare. I'll stick with these tires and will monitor them often. Sounds like I can skip the extra propane. Do the NPS campgrounds have propane fill too? I know many commercial parks do.
I've pulled out the atlas and was going to put highlighter over our route. But before I do, I thought I would list out our idea. I know it's not fun for many to read through map directions, but maybe one of you is a map nerd? :)
1. I-40 west from SC through Albuquirque and stop at El Malpais / Petrified Forest
2. N on 89 to Sunset Crater/Wupatki
3. W on 64 to Grand Canyon.
4. E on 64 to N on 89 to Page
5. Two options to Zion: a. 89 into the east side of the park, or b. 389/59 and come in the west side of the park?
6. Leave Zion E on 9, N on 89, E on 12 into Bryce
7. Leave Bryce, E on 12, E on 24 into Capitol Reef
8. Leave Capitol Reef E on 24, N on 24 to I-70
9. E on I-70, S on 191 into Moab.
10. Leave Moab, S on 191, E on 491 into Mesa Verde.
11. Leave Mesa Verde, E on 160 into Durango
12. Leave Durango, N on 550 to Ridgway.
13. Leave Ridgway
At this point, still haven't decided, but likely Salida, Buena Vista to Colorado Springs.
Then, some path North to RMNP.
Or should I reverse those last two?
So, are there any mistakes I'm making? Or short side trips that are must does along this route? I don't mind adding a little driving for better scenery.
