I would take a day, after Ridgeway, to see the Colordao National Monument in Grand Junction. The KOA there is nice. Only a couple hours to Grand Junction, get set up and then go drive the 27 miles of spectacular scenery. From there you can take I70 across or it is only 50 miles back to US 50 on a good 4 lane road, depending on whether you want to do RMNP first or last.
