I believe you are talking about Rt 9, US7 doesn't run "across" southern VT, it runs North/South.
  • We have taken Rt. 9 quite a few times with our 45' and toad.Very pretty. It's not a superhighway but it's doable.

No matter how you get there, Acadia is well worth the trip, can't wait to get back. Will probably spend more time there.
  • I live in Wilmington, VT (on Route 9). Sorry about not seeing this post sooner.

Route 9 is a very scenic two-lane road with some very steep hills ( up and down). There are truck lanes in most spots for the climbing. Make sure you can down shift for the long down hills, or toy will destroy your brakes.

Make sure you pull over on top of Hogback Mountain (lots of parking) and take in the view. Once you get to Brattleboro, VT take I 91 north (one exit) to exit 3 and continue on thru New Hampshire. Stay on 9 until Keene, NH then up through Concord to Route 4 east. Again, lots of hills, but very pretty ride. Once you get to the seacoast, take I 95 north to I 295 north back to I 95 to Bangor, and then down to Aracia. Long ride, but well worth it.

    Safe travels.
  • Made it to Acadia. Route 9 was fine, but 20 across NY was more of a challenge. Both routes were worth the effort. Now looking to go intoCanada.
    Thanks .
  • Don't forget to go to Campobello Island in New Brunswick. Summer home of FDR.
