True, I agree, both are among the many beautiful drives across the United States. Having white knuckled both in a motorhome with a toad, I later drove both again, several times, in a CAR. Fantastic drive in a car, as I could take the pullouts, see the scenery, and enjoy.
When I ask advise in a post about the roads (this is personal, just my opinion) I want the wimpiest driver to respond that the road is rough, horrible, winding, whatever their negative comments might be. If two or three or more additional forum members respond in a similar manner, I will avoid the road. If two or three write that it is not so bad, I will delve further and get more information before heading that way. So this forum member requests that anyone with reservations regarding a trip or rode please post them. Let us, the reading public make our own decisions.

By the way, I drove the Big Sur in a car, 550 from Black Canyon of the Gunnison to Durango in my B van and Going to the Sun in my F350 while my 5ver was in St Mary. Drove Independence Pass to Aspen in my B van and that's a lovely road too. Soo many nice roads, so little time. :)
