Steep mountains may be something new pulling 9,000 pounds. Allow extra time for travel.
I have been going to Sedona for 35 years, but made my last trip there this fall. It is too crowded now and lost its way. Northern Arizona has a lot of great places to visit and so does No NM. In summer I would mostly avoid the NPs except maybe for a day trip to look around.
It is a confusing business to me traveling in the height of summer with a large RV that requires hookups and visiting NPs. Make reservations now. You will need to commute to many parks from private Rv parks outside. Make sure you take time to slow down and take some day hikes. Try some National Forests. People from the East tend to focus on NPs at the expense of everything else.
