BTW the only reason I was initially going to Moab was for the biking. If I can skip the crowds and the heat and still get some good riding in, I'm fine with that. Esp with the construction at Arches. And as for our dog, she's a good camper. She's pretty content to lay around in the camper all day while we are gone and won't bark unless someone gets pretty close to the camper. 8 hrs alone is no problem.
