Day 19 Durango to Santa Fe
One full day here for whatever???
Day 21 Santa Fe to ??? Somewhere about halfway to Dallas area. Amarillo is almost halfway,
In Santa Fe; in addition to the Plaza, Governor's Palace and downtown museums; check out the Galleries on Canyon Road and Museum Hill. Take a drive up Hyde Park Road (NM-475) to the Ski Basin. There are hiking trails and I believe bike trails in this area. We enjoyed Pecos National Historic Park not far Northwest of Santa Fe on I-25. There are hiking trails in the Santa Fe National Forest North of Pecos.
Drive the Turquoise Trail(NM-14) and visit the shops in Madrid where the movie "Wild Hogs" was made. Tent Rocks National Monument is South of Sante Fe West of I-25. Drive, hike or bike the gravel road to the Veterans Memorial for a look down on the tents.
Heading from Santa Fe to Amarillo, US-285 is a good road and will avoid backtracking to Albuquerque to pickup I-40. In Amarillo, there is Palo Duro Canyon State Park which has a campground and the Big Texan on Old Route 66. There is free limo service to the Big Texan from some of the RV parks, so you don't have to unhook the trailer unless you need or want to.

And finally, I-40 going west into Albuquerque, is that going to be a problem? Looks like its going over the range, is that correct?
