Excellent thread on your trip. I like the post regarding prep work for the Excursion. We have always towed with SUVs and love the ride. I'm no expert but I always have things done to the SUV two weeks before our trip to give it a good test drive. Sometimes people make mistakes.
We visited the Grand Canyon on a four month trip to Canada. We boondocked on forest service outside of Tusayan (1 mile), I believe it was FS 301 or 320. It would be good to spend a night or two out in the forest. It's only a 1/4 mile in.
