Yep, last night was definitely a furnace AND electric blanket night here. But today is heading to the 60's and maybe to the 80's by the weekend. So, the snow should melt quickly. But hopefully not too quickly for those still cleaning up after last September's floods!
Last summer's trip to Alaska was arguably the best vacation trip we have ever taken and certainly the longest (all summer). Photography was the primary purpose of the trip, so it has to be judged a success based on the more than 3,000 photos my wife took and the 1,000 I took with a second camera. On our last Alaska trip (in 2000), we were still using film in an Olympus SLR. Film and processing 4,000 photos would have cost more than we budgeted for that entire trip!
So, good luck to both of you on your Alaska trips and to Bill and Barb on going full-time. Maybe we'll catch up with you in Arizona next winter and talk "Alaska." We can even show you our two 24-page hard-cover books of Alaska photos--one exclusively scenery and one exclusively wildlife--just to whet your appetite (admit it, it's better than an interminable old-time slide show at a friend's house!).
