^^^ Based on more than 50 years in AK, the above is what it's all about. Growing up in Los Anchorage (admittedly, decades ago), the saying was "It's raining everyday? Must be summertime."
If it's not too cold out (i.e. no cooler than 55 or so) and if one has quick access to a car/cabin/RV for the end of the hike, I usually just wear whatever I have on and if it gets wet, so be it.
