Albuquerque to Carlsbad Caverns -Best Route for RV with tow

We are headed to Carlsbad Caverns tomorrow. We are about 45 miles south of Albuquerque now. We were originally planning on going around El Paso then north. Is there a better way that would work for...

Yep, 380 from San Antonio to Hwy 70 east. South 285 from Roswell to Carlsbad. Brantley Lake State park has nice sites, between Artesia and Carlsbad. The Owl Bar in San Antonio for Green chili cheese burgers and fries. Henry's BBQ in Artesia for BBQ!!
