ALCAN Highway
It has been about 10 years since we have traveled the Alcan. Anyone that drove it this summer, is it still basically a mess? Ten years ago it was a nightmare with road work etc. How is it now?

In the off season you can easily go more than 100 mi between gas stations that are open either due to time of year or time of day. You'll be fine but it's comforting to have 50-100 mi of gas with you. I used a can on the last trip up with the gasser pickup. Wasn't quite sure if I'd make it to the next station until I dropped 5 gal in the tank. At 8.5 mpg it didn't help much but it was enough.
Plus you could do some pretty good bartering if you come across someone out of gas!
