We just came down from our 6th trip in Sept. Paved all the way, but north of Whitehorse the frost heaves and road breakup can be bad in sections. We carry a spare and have used it once as the availability of specialized tires can widely vary. We were told a Michelin 295/80-22.5 would take 3-5 days to get in at Whitehorse with a significant rush premium attached. They changed our spare out in an hour and a half. Our problem was not the roads but a very bad previous alignment.
