Alternate route to Raton Pass?
Is there a way to avoid Raton Pass heading towards Colorado Springs? I am towing a larger fifth wheel and am concerned about the mt passes.

The road over Raton is to Interstate Standards. Dont bother worrying about it. Drive it a couple of times for parctice and then you will be ready for Wolf Creek and then Monarch.
