SR-38 (NM-38) has been 2 lane since, forever ;) . I can't remember if the grade is posted but you wouldn't be driving 75 MPH. Like in East Texas. :B - Emily82ExplorerIs SR-38 a two lane highway? Is the grade posted? We don’t play with passes and grades much here in East Texas! ??
- buc1980ExplorerBobcat pass is not bad it worst when you come from red river.Good trailer brake and you don't have any problem.
- smartyExplorer IIDone this route many a time. Never heard of "Bobcat Pass" and never noticed it when driving thru.
- dblrExplorerThat's a easy climb, just come down slowly into Red River as if I remember you come into town quickly. We did it in our Smart last summer, nice drive wide open and the climb did not bother our little Smart car at all. Curves were not bad at all either. Plenty of campers use that route
- WE-C-USAExplorerI've done NM 38 several times and never know there was pass. It's only about a 1000' rise from Eagle Nest.
- IDmanExplorerBobcat Pass should not be a problem for you. I've seen school buses and 18 wheelers on it without problems.
- dedmistonModeratorHi Emily82 - Welcome aboard.
I'm going to move this to Roads and Routes for better responses.
Good luck.
