Annual Comanche Invasioin of Vancouver Island

Jumpin' the rez with my captive British Bride in early May, surprise sunrise invasion of the Island will take place around noon on Wednesday, May 30th. Raiding and pillaging will start soon after arrival via the ferry from Anacortes to Sidney. Raiding and pillaging will continue until the return trip on July 14 or all the wagons are burned, whichever comes last.

  • MWG = Mean White Guy (Includes females as well as males)
That's an acronym that an old Air Force recce friend used several years ago in reference to something or other. His comment: "That's just another Mean White Guy trick." It stuck, and I've been using it in every forum in which I participate.

Grey Mountain. I am an enrolled member of the Comanche Tribe in Oklahoma. (Grey Mountain is the English translation of the Comanche Esa Toyah. Esa Toyah was my great-grandfather.)

OK, Fixt. I was just trying to confuse you MWGs.

  • I marked it down in my diary! Will be circling the wagons!
Great to see you can make it back up here, we'll have to pop in- put the kettle on! Tell Hazel that there is a Scottish butcher now, close to where you were the last time.
  • Thoughts:

    - I think this ended up in the "Alaska" section of "Canada / Alaska" (vs. the Canada section)
    - I believe Mr. Grey Mountain takes regular trips to Vancouver
    - ....and that he's of Native American heritage
  • Well, I have to admit, I had no idea what you posted about. So did some searching. I'm assuming your carrying on a tradition that's become an annual event. Sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun.

OK, I still am not sure if this is the "right" connection, if it's not, then please correct me. But here's a link I found that might help someone else who is clueless to explain your enthusiasm and (perhaps) your heritage, thus the reason for engaging in such an (adventurous) endeavor!

Have fun! That's what it's really all about.
