I have a funny story about the NE toll roads/bridges, etc. We did a 4500 mile, 45 day trip through Virginia, then Pennsylvannia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, etc. We had a blast and the tolls were rather expensive. We came back down to NYC and were staying at Liberty Harbor RV Park, which was $92/night for a parking lot with services. It is the closest to NYC. Our brand new 35' TT was parked between two Prevost Motorhomes and we looked like the Clampetts!!
On the 2nd day we were there, I was talking to the fella driving the Prevost on our entry side that was from the Nashville area of Tennessee. He was asking where we were heading, where we had been, etc.
I explained our trip so far and that we had just come from Old Orchard Beach, ME to NYC. He said his wife was wanting to go to Maine, but he had heard that the tolls would be in excess of $200 for him at some of the tolls. He had just paid $142 to come into NJ and he just wasn't sure he was going to pay that. I told him it was great and if he came this far, he needed to get to Acadia.
I went back into the camper and was telling the DH about my conversation....here is a guy in a new $2million Prevost and he is worried about the $200 tolls. I guess that is why he can afford that Prevost.
We got our transponder at a truck stop and pre-loaded it with about $100. We blew through that pretty quickly.
