I can give you my DW's answer to bilingual, she always asks if "Sprechen sie Deutsch?" Why only Spanish or French? Sometimes she gets lucky. For Spanish I use the old man's way. I speak English, the other guy speaks Spanish. It works, us old guys know its easier to understand a new language rather than slaughter it while speaking.
