It is Pancho Villa SP and they have a very interesting museum at the SP pertaining to the history of the Pancho Villa raid into the US at Columbus and the US answer to his foray. That is where we stay when we are visiting the area. Make sure you make a stop at the "Pink Palace" for a drink and dinner. It is kitty corner from the Customs/Immigration office. The Texan wrote:
You said you were traveling in both NM and AZ. The info briansue gave you about Palomas, across the border from Columbus NM is the best. We have crossed there several times and the building with all the official offices backs up to the border fence, just inside the gate on the west side. I would do just as he said, park in the lot on the American side, directly behind the Mexican office and walk over to ask how they want to do it. They will look at the size of your RV and then tell you what they want you to do.
Thanks - that seems like a plan - except it may all be moot - after tearing apart all my old papers, I can't find the paperwork that goes with the sticker! (it was 9 years ago & for the last 8 years I've had my RV in Europe, but still, I'm certain I had kept them somewhere safe - maybe so safe that even I can't locate them! :-(
I really think that you will NOT have a problem without the paperwork, just complicate the turn in a little. I would still go and turn it in and get your return receipt for the permit.
