Around Yellowstone

Staying outside Cody on the west side then want to spend a few days on the other side of Yellowstone if we can get reservations, and get our 5er there. Just realized that where we have reservations outside Cody is about 70 miles to Yellowstone. Would like to stay a little closer if it is possible to get reservations. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. We are truly newbies to the area.
  • You might check out Fishing Bridge RV Campground which is in the park. Full hookups, but close quarters. It is probably already full, but you might check for a cancellation. Have a great trip.
  • You could search this Forum for `Yellowstone' in the RV Parks section and read on. X2 on Grizzly.
  • There area few other cgs in and around W. Yellowstone as well, but Grizzly is closest and well recommended. If you travel through YNP your entrance fee will be good for 7 days, and W. Yellowstone is a reasonable base for accessing the park. Enjoy!
  • We try to go to Yellowstone every year. We have always stayed at Grizzly in W. Yellowstone. It's 5 minutes to the West Entrance and although you drive over the same roads a few times in a week, you never know what you might see. It is also in a nice little town with a DQ stores and resturants.
  • West Yellowstone, try Grizzly Rv park. Only four blocks from west entrance. You can take the fiver through. Be sure to do the Buffalo Bill Cody museum before heading west. You need two days for it.
