Aspen to Alamosa

Question

Hi all, looking for advice to get from Aspen, CO down to Alamosa, CO while avoiding Independence Pass. Wondering if we should head back to I-70 and down the 24 or out through Carbondale on the 133 and over on the 50 through Gunnison/Salida?

Pulling a 30ft TT with a ram 2500 6.4l.

Any suggestions would be great.

I think I'd go back out to I-70 then pick up US 24 near Vail and US 285 from south of Buena Vista. I'm sure there are other points of view, but this is mine.

While at Alamosa be sure to ride the Cumbres and Toltec steam train.  Great ride and beautiful scenery.
