Wow! Just checked back in and there are a lot of great suggestions here. I believe you have talked me out of going to the Grand Canyon. Just not enough time in 10 days. So, we have decided to go to the Smokey Mountains/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. This will allow for the most time enjoying one another's company and seeing sites and hiking.
I really appreciate your input. It is great to rely on other people's experience and not have to make the same mistakes.
