Atlanta

Hi everyone
Second trip to Florida. Last year going and coming from northern Indiana we hit Atlanta on Sunday. This year we will be going through on Wednesday about noon.
Pulling a 36 foot fifth wheel. Should we go right through town or take 285 on the west side?
285 is only about 6 miles further.
Would appreciate any thoughts.

    Noon will be bad today. Folks have been sitting on I-75 for hours and hours with nothing moving. Stay away from Atlanta if at all possible.

    Hoping no rv'ers happened to be in Atlanta traffic midday today!

    Total gridlock from 1 into the darkness when snow, sleet turned ice.

    I'm stranded at friends, normal 1 hr commutes were taking over 7 hours.

    If they made it!

    Straight through. I have a BIL living on the SW side and still prefer going through. Leave plenty of room and don't get in a hurry. Take 489 patience pills 4 hours before going through and you'll be fine.

    Straight through unless bad weather or rush hour. You should maintain about 45 MPH at that time of day. Accidents may change your plans. Watch the traffic boards, the lane signs, and your GPS.

    Straight thru, once you join up with I-85 get in one of the left 3 lanes. They have the I-75/I-85 shields painted on the roadway. These lanes will go thru past I-285 on the south side

    We go through or around Atalanta, towing our trailer twice per year. We prefer going straight through on a weekday. Works best for us.
