We just went through Everett/Seattle/ Tacoma headed South on Sunday morning around 10:00, and didn't even touch the brakes.
On the way up though, we went through midday, and it took us 6 hours from Woodland.
You might need a little more advanced notice to ferry from Coupeville to Port Townsend. We took the car, and had to book 5-6 days out. Just FYI.
