I've been camping in BC Parks for quite a few decades (won't say how many!! :) ) I have seen how the services have decreased & the fees have increased. While i can appreciate that infrastructure needs to be replaced when it gets rotten, or broken, i really don't see how they can justify replacing these structures with 'Cadillac' type structures. Locally, they replaced the washrooms about 15 years ago (in Rathtrevor Campsite), then replaced them again 2 years ago at a cost of $300.000. I mean, a few outhouses would of worked for a heck of a lot less!! I see where they have put electrical into some sites at Mezzidan Campground, why haven't they increased the fees there to cover that expense? They only raised it $2.
On top of that, they have a lot of Campgrounds closed from September to April! (They have also closed some parks completely) There were a lot of people who used these facilities during the winter. No, i think they could run the parks & campgrounds better by just providing basic services. After all, it is the bush we are talking about. I sometmes think they try to attract "city folks' with no idea of camping
