Bandito Watch 2015

I guess I hit a raw nerve with some of the Canadians by wanting to know the crime rate of the bandidos in Nova Scotia, I see that homicides and violent crimes have gone down but robberies and recidivism is up, no doubt due to more drugs being consumed.

I do not travel to Canada and ask about the criminal element, that is just bad manners of a guest in the country, I concentrate on the beauty and the majesty of the areas that I visit, and yes I have been in Canada, that there is crime yes but I do not ask, I try to avoid it at all cost, I refuse to be an ugly American, instead I respect the Citizens of the country that I am visiting and try to be a guest that will be welcomed again.

JerBear, We didn't go down last year either. Our dog seems to be handling his hepatitis and if he continues to improve or at least remain stable we'll head south in October. Our final destination is Zihuatanejo so usually drive the 200 in one direction or another. Where do you spend the winter? PM me if you wish.

I apologize for the spelling error. The reason I asked about bandidos is because we have travelled all over Mexico for the past 8 winters, but unfortunately had to take this winter off. It really would have been nice, navegator, if you had concentrated on my question instead of my typo. I'll tell you what, I'll spend more time on my spelling and you spend more time on your run-on sentences.

Her Name apparently is Well known as is her reputation as a thief! She approached the victims table in a beachfront restaurant asking if anyone had seen her dog. Then quickly grabbed a carelessly placed purse from beside a chair.

She got taken down very quickly by a friend of the victim and the handbag was recovered intact.

Nothing life threatening ,just annoying.

Her photo ,at the scene is now in the hands of the local authorities!

We talked about her this morning at the Wednesday Men's Breakfast in LM. Apparently she is Mexican, and as you say well known. She has been banned from Lora Loka's and the authorities have talked with her and her husband about her proclivity to steal in the past. Her photograph has also been posted on the LM Message Board.

Annoying is right!

We were in Mazatlan having just driven down. A fellow camper came up to us and asked if we'd had any trouble on the way down. We said we hadn't and she told us she was really worried for everyone driving down after what she saw in Los Mochis.
They had stopped there and in the morning saw hundreds of 'banditos' (that was the way she pronounced it!) all waiting at the side of the road and then getting into the back of all these farm trucks. She knew they were 'banditos' as they were all wearing kerchiefs over their mouths and noses!
I can't remember if we told her or not what they really were! :)

Happy to hear the good news. We normally spend a month on the Michoacán coast between Tecoman & Playa Azul. Last year there was very little traffic on that stretch of Hwy 200. It was almost kind of eerie. We did run into the Auto Defensas one day. They showed up in force on a patrol.

I talked with some friends last night who just returned from Zihuatanejo driving back to La Manznilla, and reported one check point, but no issues or awareness of "bad" guys. Pot holes are another issue.

Bandido free for 9 years and thats as a full timer 24x7x52, funny post.

There was ONE hijack last year that was highly publicized. A motor home was stopped and their toad Jeep was stolen.

Incidents like that spread like wildfire on the internet.
