Banff and Jasper Natl Park campgrounds? Please advise

We're planning a trip to Banff and Jasper Natl Parks soon. Which parks in the areas would be the best for our rig--32 ft motorhome? We'd like hookups, but not essential. For Banff, we'd like to visit Lake Louise and Banff being able to drive our toad from the campground. Some light hiking. Thanks in advance. Mark
  • We had hookups at both Banff and Jasper (Trailer Tunnel and Whistler). Go to the website - check on availability. The cgs were full the entire time of our stay - we had reservations.

Go early to the parking lot of Moraine Lake (it is fairly small and very popular - so early is best) There is an uphill hike, but very doable, to one of the most spectacular sights you'll ever see.

    Enjoy, it is so beautiful
  • Plenty of room at Whistler, in Jasper. And at the Icefields. Do not take a big rig into Wilcox, right near the Icefields -- very tight turns and small sites.
  • We went there in 2005 with our 29' TT, but you can see by the pictures, with our truck included there will be lots of room for you. We stayed at Two Jack Main, outside of Banff because Signal Mountain was full. A very nice local on a bike, lead us to the campground. Very nice and lots of room, dry camping though. We later stayed at Lake Louise campground. There it's side by side but not bad, at least there was electricity there. Our favorite was up by Jasper. When we arrived, the full hook-up spots were full so we "settled" for a dry spot in the back and glad we did. The sites were huge with lots of privacy. Here's a to a little blog on our travels.
