Bangor Me to Florida Suggested Routes

Thinking of pulling the 5er south down the east coast shortly. Whats the best route to take. I know you can go thru NYC on I95 or circumvent all the major cities. For those of you that have done it what route do you recommend.

I would take sdaniel's route with the 77 to 26 option. This circumvents all the major cities. You really want to avoid NYC, Balt, Wash and south of Wash towards Richmond.

I-295, I-95, I-495, I-290, I-90, I-84, I-81, I-64, I-95. Or instead of I-64, take I-77 south to I-26 at Columbis SC, then over to I-95.

I would avoid I-95 in the baltimore/DC area.
