Banner Road to Julian
I am considering taking a 24ft trailer up Banner Road to Julian from Palm Desert - has anyone used this road, how steep and windy is it and is it safe?

- Yes, the road is steep and winding. Yes, it is a safe road. One lane each direction and usually good pavement. I prefer to drive it uphill rather than down. There are quite a few turnouts to allow passing for those going uphill. Weekdays will have less traffic and hence less stress.
Your profile doesn't say what you will be towing this trailer with. You should be OK if you usually can tow up grades.
The bottom of Banner Grade is not near Palm Desert. This road comes up from Shelter Valley, south of Borrego Springs. Maybe you knew that or maybe you meant some other road. Just checking.
