Bar Harbor to Danforth Bay Campground in Freedom NH

Above route should be a nice, relatively scenic, leisurely drive. Rt. 1 can be a bit slow at times and 295 goes through Portland, but if you hit it at non-rush hour, you'll be fine. There are some nice views of the water on 295. You'll love Danforth Bay and the foliage should be pretty decent when you get there if you are leaving soon. Whole area is running 1-2 weeks ahead of "normal" this year for foliage.
