Was reading in another forum here that WA State does not accept BC Enhanced Driver's Licence to cross into the USA by land. True? Washington State has nothing to do with border crossings, that's Homeland Security/Customs. I think that post was saying that Washington does not issue Enhanced DL to it's citizens. I looked into those before we got our Passports and only a very few states are using them, but that has no affect on you.

WA State does not control the border. This is done by US Border Patrol and Customs. Washington issues enhanced drivers license to Washington State citizens based on this:Dept. of Licensing, WAI would contact the Border Patrol in Blaine for exact current information.

Thanks. The latest poster to that thread says they (WA border) only allow the BC enhanced DL starting at 11 am. True?( It is such a hassle. DW is American (landed immigrant), has BC DL of course, but can't get BC enhanced as not a citizen. So she needs an American passport to enter the US, but not to return to Canada!!! (Has her landed immigrant card), but supposedly, I only need the enhanced BC DL to go both ways---haven't tried it since they started all this. We used to go back and forth all the time to visit her folks)

Many people have a concern that they might have to fly home for some reason instead of drive...medical emergency or something like that...and you can fly with any DL gotta have the passport.

WA State does not control the border. This is done by US Border Patrol and Customs.
Washington issues enhanced drivers license to Washington State citizens based on this:
Dept. of Licensing, WA
I would contact the Border Patrol in Blaine for exact current information.
