Bear Spray

Okay, before we took our Alaska trip, I bought a can of bear spray. Our trip is over, the bear spray never had the cap off. Now what do I do with it?

I read one story of someone who left it on the dash of his truck and it exploded, blowing out the windshield, etc. Don't want that to happen.

I thought of burying it. . . turning it in at the hazmat station, etc.

I really don't need it.

Any suggestions?

  • I keep mine just inside the door of the RV....you can carry it into Canada and any campground...if it can stop a 1000 lb bear, it can drop a person high on meth just as fast without killing them....10 times stronger than mace
  • We full time, so I don't have a place to put it other than in the motorhome.

x2. If you can't find someone who can use it, empty the can and put it in the trash.

  • Why not put it in the house/garage, until the next time you plan on going on a trip.
If you don't plan to ever have a need for it, you could probably call your local trash hauler, and ask what they suggest.

Personally, I'd just go searching for some bears to pick a fight with:B
