Bend Oregon to Reno Nevada

For us, the journey is part of the trip. So we would take 97, 39, 139, Lookout Road, Susanville Road, 139, 36, 395.

Best gas prices?

We took that same route last summer. Although OR31 is a unique, beautiful drive, I'll not drive it again until they repave that highway.

Heading home, of the 119 miles on Hwy 31 after leaving 395 at Mountain View to hooking up with 97 just south of LaPine, at least half or more (60+ miles) of that highway was a teeth rattling WASHBOARD HIGHWAY. I drove pretty much no more than 40-45 mph that entire distance of that road surface.

Next trip to Reno I'll bi-pass 31 by going to Klamath Pass and taking OR35/CA139 S.E toward either Alturas or Susanville.

I am north bound on that route currently. It is my preferred route north and south.

Ditto what donn0128 said :) :) We lived south of Bend for 10 yrs and that's the only route we used. :)
